Inverness Center North is a three-building, 448,044 square-foot office campus located on the north shore of Memorial Lake, on the north side of Inverness Center Parkway in the Inverness Center development off of U.S. Highway 280.

The first three buildings, 40 Inverness Center Parkway, 42 Inverness Center Parkway, and 44 Inverness Center Parkway, were constructed in 1984 and 1985 for Southern Company Services.

After that company relocated to Colonnade Office Tower North and South in 2017, Harbert Realty Services partnered with the RMR Group of Newton, Massachusetts to redevelop the complex for multiple tenants, and to possibly construct a fourth building to the west with an associated parking structure. Cooper Carry architects of Atlanta, Georgia were commissioned to prepare the redevelopment plans.

Building 44 was subsequently taken over by Fidelity Information Services, but the other two remained vacant. The planned fourth building, at 46 Inverness Center Parkway has not been realized.

In August 2022 Harbert Realty Services sold Inverness Center North to In-Rel Properties of Lake Worth, Florida for $16 million, and contracted with NAI Chase Commercial to manage the property. In September 2023 that company announced a $4 million renovation project for Building 44 designed to accommodate medical office tenants.

In 2024 Stoa Group of Hammond, Louisiana petitioned Hoover to rezone 24 acres in the business park for multi-family residential and retail development. They proposed The Heights at Inverness as a 289-unit apartment complex on a 15-acre parcel.
