Paine Intermediate School was a school for grades 3-5 school located at 7600 Gadsden Highway in Trussville, adjoining Paine Primary School for grades K-2.
The schools opened in 2003 as part of the Jefferson County Schools system, intended to ease overcrowding at Hewitt Elementary School. They were named for Amerex Corporation founder Ned Paine and his wife, Goldie, who donated 38 acres of land across from the company's headquarters for its construction. The intermediate school was designed by McCauley Associates and built by Gary C. Wyatt General Contractor.
In 2005 the two schools were transferred to the newly independent Trussville City Schools district. In 2016 Paine Intermediate School was merged with the adjacent Paine Primary School into a newly-constructed Paine Elementary School.
