This is a List of Birmingham homicides in 2023. It includes homicide cases occurring within the city limits during the calendar year. Note that a "homicide" refers to the cause of death as determined by a medical examiner, not to the commission of the crime of murder as charged by police and prosecutors.

2 homicides have been reported in the city as of January 4, Birmingham had 152 homicides in 2022, a record high. The recent record low of 62 homicides was set in 2014. At this point in 2022, 4 homicides had been reported.

There were 2 incidents so far in January. No deaths were reported on Sundays, 1 on a Monday, none on Tuesdays, 1 on a Wednesday, none on Thursdays, none on Fridays, and none on Saturdays.

Suspects have been identified in 1 case, arrested in 1 and charged in none.

2 deaths so far have resulted from shootings, 0 from blunt-force trauma, 0 from reckless driving, and 0 from unannounced causes. 1 incident occurred outside at an apartment complex, 0 at private homes, 1 at a business, and 0 on the streets. 1 death was reported in the West Precinct, 1 in the East Precinct, 0 in the South Precinct and 0 in the North Precinct.
