David Ullrich

David William Ullrich (born August 25, 1953 in Chicago, Illinois; died December 5, 2023 in Birmingham) was a professor and chair of the English department at Birmingham-Southern College.

Ullrich was one of two sons of William Joseph and Arlene Kathryn Ring Ullrich of Chicago. He earned a bachelor of arts at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1975. He married Joanne Murphy in 1977 and completed his Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin in Madison in 1986. While working on his doctorate he taught classes at Wisconsin and at Ripon College.
