The 1040 Fest is an annual music festival organized by the Central City neighborhood to coincide with the Internal Revenue Service's personal income tax filing deadline on April 15. It is held on 24th Street and 3rd Avenue North across from the Birmingham Post Office.

The festival was founded in 2005 by Jay Taylor, Leda Dimperio and other Loft district residents. It is funded in part by the neighborhood association, with assistance from community programming funds from the Birmingham Weed & Seed Task Force.
