1991 Iron Bowl

The 1991 Iron Bowl was decided on November 30 at Birmingham's Legion Field. The Tigers lost to Alabama 13-6.

A Bear Bryant-era contract to keep the game between the two teams in Birmingham was in question; Auburn's Pat Dye insisted the 1989 Iron Bowl be played for the first time in Auburn at Jordan-Hare Stadium. As a compromise, he allowed the 1991 Iron Bowl]] to be played at Legion Field, Auburn's final "home game" in Birmingham.

The game was Alabama's head coach Gene Stallings second consecutive Iron Bowl victory.
