Dave McDaniel

David Lynn "Big Dave" McDaniel (born c. 1961; died November 9, 2013 in Birmingham) was a radio host and sports announcer, known as an on-field reporter for Samford Bulldogs football and the voice of the Lady Bulldogs basketball team.

McDaniel graduated from Minor High School. He co-hosted the Wally and Dave Show with Wally Price and produced the morning show on "Catfish Country" (WTBC-AM/WNPT-FM) in Tuscaloosa. He covered NASCAR for WTDR-FM in Talladega and also appeared on 97.3 "The Zone".

McDaniel died in a single-car accident on the 400 block of Mulga Loop Road in November 2013. He was survived by his wife, Vicki, and children.
