Jan Walsh is a Vestavia Hills-based freelance writer specializing in wine, food, profiles, and travel. Her company Jan Walsh, LLC owns and publishes several specialty websites for Birmingham.

Walsh is a regular columnist for Birmingham magazine, covering food, food-related travel and restaurant reviews. She has penned numerous feature articles as well.

Walsh has contributed cover, feature, and “collecting” department articles to Wine Spectator since 2005. She holds certification by the prestigious Guild of Sommeliers for her knowledge of wine and spirits. She has also been published in other national publications and has co-authored two books, The Forge: From Metal to Medicine, and Weight Watchers Annual Recipes for Success 2006.
