Liston A. Corcoran Sr (born November 9, 1906; died December 1973) was an insurance executive and civic leader.
Corcoran worked as an insurance executive and resided at 8809 1st Avenue South in Roebuck. At a meeting of the Alabama School Board Association he advocated for a state law withholding driver's licenses until applicants graduated high school.
Corcoran was appointed to fill the unexpired term on Art Hanes on the Birmingham Board of Education on January 21, 1961 and was re-appointed to a five-year term on March 13, 1962. He served as vice-president during the system's transition to integrated schools in 1963. In 1966 he ran for Birmingham City Council and was re-elected in 1968 and 1972.
Corcoran died in December 1973. He was succeeded on the Council by David Herring, who was elected in February 1974 to fill the remainder of his two-year term.
