In [[1960]] [[Birmingham Transit Company]] Route 3 followed a similar Jefferson Avenue route, taking [[2nd Avenue North]]/[[Tuscaloosa Avenue]] through [[Elyton]] as far as [[14th Street Southwest]] where it turned south onto Jefferson Avenue and continued southwest to [[24th Street Southwest]], bearing left to [[Brookhaven Avenue]], then southwest along [[31st Street Southwest]] to [[Cedar Avenue]]. At Cedar, the route turned right and looped around [[Park Avenue]], [[Birch Avenue]] and [[Walnut Avenue]] before returning to 31st Street Southwest for the trip back into town.

In 1960 Birmingham Transit Company Route 3 followed a similar Jefferson Avenue route, taking 2nd Avenue North/Tuscaloosa Avenue through Elyton as far as 14th Street Southwest where it turned south onto Jefferson Avenue and continued southwest to 24th Street Southwest, bearing left to Brookhaven Avenue, then southwest along 31st Street Southwest to Cedar Avenue. At Cedar, the route turned right and looped around Park Avenue, Birch Avenue and Walnut Avenue before returning to 31st Street Southwest for the trip back into town.
