The Magic City Flickr Group, (MCFG) is a group of people sharing photographs of Birmingham on the online photo-sharing site Flickr.com. The group was founded on February 22, 2005 by Dystopos, who is also founder of the BhamWiki.
As of April 17, 2006 the group consists of 175 members and over 3,300 photos which are searchable by user-defined tags. Many of the photos are licensed under Creative Commons licenses which allow them to be used by others with less restrictions than full copyright protection.
The group also hosts a discussion forum and a weekly "Best of the Magic City" photo contest. A few meetups have been held as social events. Future plans include a Group Show of members' work at a public event.
