Mountain Brook High School, founded in 1966, is a three-year public high school, and the lone high school in the Mountain Brook School System. The school's 25-acre campus is located at 3650 Bethune Drive off Oakdale Drive near I-459. The principal is Vic Wilson.

Mountain Brook High graduated its first class in 1968. Enrollment in grades 10-12 for the 2007-2008 school year was 1,004 students.

School colors are green and gold. The athletic teams are called the "Spartans". A "Spartan Creed", connecting the school's ideals with those of ancient Sparta, was adopted by the school's faculty and student government in 2009. Numerous academic and service clubs and organizations are active at Mountain Brook High School, which also allowed social fraternities and sororities until the early 2000s.

  • Mountain Brook has graduated three Rhodes Scholars.
  • Mountain Brook has won more Alabama state athletic championships (102) than any other school in the state. Coach Robert Higginbotham led the Spartans to the 1975 state football championship.
