The Ether Dogs were a Birmingham-based punk band formed in 1981 by Tim Boykin, Clay Jones, Will Platt, Al Naff, and Jerry Weldon. Later members included Richard Pryor and Phil from DC.
The Ether Dogs played a seminal benefit show for United Campuses Against Nuclear War with Grossest National Product and Jim Bob & the Leisure Suits at St Andrew's Episcopal Church in June 1983. They performed with G.N.P. again at a Delta Chi party at Birmingham-Southern College that fall. The group played regular shows at The Cavern on Morris Avenue, and also toured around the South before disbanding around 1985.
