This article is about the Lakeview area of southside Birmingham. For the town in Tuscaloosa County, see Lake View.

Lakeview is an entertainment district located in southside Birmingham, centered on 29th Street South between Clairmont Avenue and extending north toward Pepper Place and west toward the Red Mountain Expressway.

Lakeview began as a streetcar suburb anchored by Lakeview Park, site of the first Iron Bowl.

Efforts to revitalize the Lakeview district were jump-started in 1986 when Bayer Properties purchased the Avon Building for a mixed-use redevelopment project anchored by the Bombay Café.

In 1999, the historic commercial area of Lakeview was appended to the city's Southside Historic District, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.
