Tuxedo can refer to a number of things related to the neighborhood in Ensley which was itself named for the Tuxedo Park resort and country club in New York. That club took its name from an indigenous Algonquian term, probably "p'tuck-sepo", meaning "crooked river." The club's name became associated with a tailless dinner jacket first popularized there in the 1880s.
- Tuxedo Park subdivision, a district of workers houses built before 1899 by the Tennessee Coal, Iron & Railroad Co. and likely named for the New York club
- Tuxedo Park, a private amusement park built in the 1920s near the subdivision and dedicated as a public park in 1944
- Tuxedo, a neighborhood in Birmingham's Ensley community, taken from the TCI subdivision
- Tuxedo Junction, the crossing of the Wylam and Pratt City streetcar lines, near the intersection of Ensley Avenue and 20th Street, which became a popular entertainment district. A popular legend saying that the district got its name because mine and mill workers would rent tuxedo jackets for the evening from a shop located below a dance hall is likely invented.
- Tuxedo Junction (song), a popular jazz standard composed by Erskine Hawkins based on the popular entertainment district
- Tuxedo Court, a public housing community which was built in 1961 over much of the original Tuxedo Park worker's houses, cleared for "urban renewal", and itself demolished for redevelopment in the 2000s.
- Tuxedo Terrace, a public housing community constructed in 2010 on the former Tuxedo Court site.
