Vacca Campus
The Alabama Department of Youth Services Vacca Campus is a secured educational facility for male juvenile offenders ages 12 to 15 operated by the Alabama Department of Youth Services. It is located on a 178-acre campus at 8950 Roebuck Boulevard in Roebuck which served as the Alabama Boys Industrial School. Boys assigned to the facility are assigned a case manager who oversees the development and execution of an individualized service plan to lead them away from criminal activities. Programs include education at the McNeel School, substance abuse treatment through a UAB program, mental health services, counseling, religious services and physical education.
Yolanda Byrdsong is administrator of the Vacca Campus, and Arthur Tigner is principal of the McNeel School.
