Operation "Taking It to the Streets" was an operation of the Birmingham Police Department's Vice/Narcotics Unit and the South Precinct Task Force conducted in Kingston, South Town, Avondale, Titusville and Five Points South on November 4, 2006.
The operation netted 57 arrests, 10 gun siezures, 6 towed vehicles and 9 ticketed citations.
The arrests were broken down as follows:
- 24 felony arrests
- 11 for unlawful possession of marijuana in the 1st degree
- 9 for unlawful possession of a controlled substance
- 1 for theft of trade mark
- 1 for violation of a "certain person forbidden" warrant
- 2 on outstanding arrest warrants
- 33 midemeanor arrests
- 5 for unlawful possession of marijuana in the 2nd degree
- 4 for VSFA
- 7 for operating a business without a license
- 7 on outstanding arrest warrants
- 2 for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia
- 1 for solicitation for prostitution
- 2 for driving under the influence
- 1 for disorderly conduct
- 5 others
