Don MacDermott (born 1954) represented District 1 in the Birmingham City Council for one term from 1997 to 2001. He was defeated in a run-off in the 2001 Birmingham City Council election by Joel Montgomery.

In August 2007, as part of a federal investigation, McDermott was arrested at his Trussville home and charged with possession of obscene material involving victims younger than 17. Computers and other materials, as well as a submachine gun were taken from the house. On December 5, 2007MacDermott pleaded guilty to receiving and possessing child pornography.
