Mays had one at-bat, pinch hitting for Don Kessinger in the top of the 5th. He hit a fly ball off Dave McNally for the 2nd out of the inning. President Nixon was scheduled to throw out the first pitch, but due to the delay he had to miss the game in order to greet the Apollo 11 astronauts after their splashdown.
